Key NASA Experience

Large Space Structures Control – Paragon personnel developed and led the development of the large space structures laboratory facility at MSFC and developed several state-of-the-art control strategies to dampen these structures in a space environment. Paragon personnel also lead an effort with Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), at their request, to perform an independent assessment of the X-37 flight vehicle stability. Paragon applied state of the art analysis techniques of multivariable nonlinear systems and demonstrated that the X-37 stability margins predicted by several of the other NASA centers were not robust for the B-52 drop test planned and that additional modification to the mass location would be needed before testing could be safely preformed.
